Oral contracts

I am self employed was booked for a modelling job through an agency over the phone. On arrival at the job I felt i had been mis informed about the colour the salon wanted to dye my hair and how it would have to be bleached. After a stalemate and feeling very pressurised I agreed to be dyed and do just the 1 show day, and was told by a representative of the company that if I did this they would get another model for the remaining dates and that would be the end of it. The following day I was then told if I did not do the remaining dates I would face being dragged into a court battle ( this would also involve the client and the hair salon). I feel I am being bullied. Does my oral contract with the representative now not count? Have I got a leg to stand on?

Yes your oral contract counts.

Your difficulty is proving it exists.

The company's problem is proving the original contract existed (easy as you admit it happened) and on what terms (difficult to impossible).

I really doubt if they will take you to court and if they do they will probably lose.
