Bocsh washing machine?

Yesterday my washing machine made a high pitched screeching noise (whilst spinning) then tripped my electric off. Does anybody know what might oh happened? Tried it last night seemed as if it was working but clothes full of soap powder and it wouldnt spin. thankyou in anticipation!!! julie x

It sounds like the motor has packed up. If you have an extended warranty, now is the time to use it. If it is still less than a year old, you need to contact the repair firm used by the retailer from whom you bought the washing machine. You may also be able to claim some or all of the repair off your home contents insurance.

I have a Bosch machine that did exactly the same thing, turned it out the brushes on the motor needed replacing costing aroung �60. My machine was eight years old at the time. You may also want to check the belt from the motor that drives the tub.

if it is old, give up and buy a new machine unless you can fix it yourself.

Once you start totting up call out charges and parts you pay a third to a half the price of a new one.

thanks everyone for your help. I.ve decided to buy a new one, i.ve never had much luck with washers. I usually go for an expensive brand, but sod it ive ordered an indecit (my sister.s had hers for 9 years) so hopefully this will outlive the expensive brands. cheers x
