the electoral roll as we now know it only began in the early 1900s, before then there were varying Burgess Rolls etc which could be considered the same or pre empting the electoral roll. why do you ask? it is an odd question, do you know what the electoral roll consists of?

someone has counted the cells in our body and the stars in the galaxy, so why not all the letters in the electoral roll?
