Wobbly bog

Can anyone let me know how to stop my toilet seat from wobbling. it is tight to the pan but the whole lot moves left to right when in use!!. ta

My old one used to do that too, always made me jump!!! it broke in the end. i find wooden ones better than plastic!! x

sounds like your screws through the porcelain are loose within the holes, (if everything else is tight). Get a bit plastic tube which the screw is tight to go through and is reasonably tight in the porcelain, and cut it to the thickness of the porcelain. Cheers

Take it right off and see if there is play in the fittings.

Some have ways to swivel in case the holes in the toilet are a different spacing. You need to tighten the screw that allows them to swivel.

But seriously, folks... The seat fixing screw washers are probably plastic or nylon neither of which will grip on the glaze on the pan. Ask at your local plumbing centre for rubber washers instead. (Take along an example for size). They'll grip, and stop the seat from sliding about.

These cheap modern khazis are diabolical! Very fragile, and when you flush they deliver about 10cc of water, which cannot shift a decent-sized Richard III

I had this problem too. I ended up taking the seat off, cutting some double sided tape to the size of the brackets that sit on the pan then refitting the seat on top of the tape. ok so far!
