Keyboard Problem

On my son's new ACER keyboard in order to get the @ button to work you have to do shift and 2. I have tried ALT and shift together to alter this but it doesn't work. Similar problem with the � sign. He is using an ACER computer on XP.

Change to UK in control panel - date time language and regional options

Make sure it states UK in the regional and language options
