Is that emitted??

Cannot see why it would not work, give it a TRY AND LET US KNOW. Sorry keep hitting cap locks.
I suspect that the manuafcturers may be concerned that under certain circumstances, static charge build up on upvc might effect its operation.
Apparently you can't use low energy bulbs if triggered by a dusk to dawn sensor, but I have been for several years.

Same with low energy bulbs in enclosed fittings.

Do the instructions actually say that the signal will be affected, or that the adhesive will fail?

Go on - live dangerously - try it and see!
I'm sure in adhesive issue and not a static build up concern. I think you've got the wrong end of the stick so to say.
UPVC normally has metal inside the plastic frame. Would this interfear?
>interfear

interfere
I live in a house converted into 2 flats. The woman upstairs has used a wireless doorbell for years on a upvc frame, with no problems.
Question Author
the reason for this question was because we have a doorbell on a upvc frame.it worked for a just a short while before stopping so i assumed it was the frame.

and yes it should be emmitted.
Maybe the heating and cooling that upvc gets esp during the summer, any glue adhesive would fail on such extreme temp changes and also the expansion and contraction the doors and windows exibit.
could be electeostatic damaged the circuitry, modern low power intergrated circuits usijg very very little power can be affected by small charges of static that although tiny in power can be 100s of volts,

the thing about energy saving bulbs not being used in light sensor fittings and timers is BS the only thing they can't be used in is dimmers because they don't work that way
