Transferring photos from hard drive on to CD

Please help, I am putting all my photos on to CD's from my computer as a back up incase of breakdown.
My snaps are all stored by year and month, however on some of the months files, under "Picture Tasks" there is no "copy all items to CD" Is there any other way to do this?

Most PCs fitted with a CD or DVD burner (CD RW or DVD RW drive) are supplied with a software application to allow you to do this.

Are you sure that your PC is not fitted with a plain CD drive (player only)?
