Seriously, you need to tell the size of the house, any awkward angles, amount of windows, doors, fireplaces to be worked around etc etc etc

No real way to tell unless the workman is actually there to size it up. Most places will give you a free quote.

Most builders merchants are amenable to haggling over price, especially for anything more than a couple of sheets..
Ask a few of them, and play one against the other. You should be able to get it for a something under �5 a sheet
