Is it possible, is it allowed [and if not, why not] and how do you give certain Abers your email address.
Some people on here have issues that would not be of interest to many, and it would be so nice to link up.

Hi bigsister,
Putting emails on here is allowed, but not advisable, because even though the majority of people on here can be trusted, some can't, and you'd be opening yourself up to email abuse and other things,

If you want to give your email to someone, do it via personal messages, you can create your own friends list on Sports Answerbank for that purpose.

Hope this helps.
sensbile advice from Lonnie. In general you don't want to publish your email address anywhere public if you can avoid it; it identifies you to spammers as well as AB trolls. Use the sports section (click on Sport under topics and log in with your usual ID).

Thanks for that. Just one more thing, how would I let the people I want to contact know that, without alerting 'the wrong ones'.
in SAB there's an option to invite other ABers to be your friends, so just choose the ones you want and send invitations. Once they agree to be on your list you can send them private messages, though not very long ones, that won't appear on AB, so you can give your email address there to anyone you trust

Please dont get fed up with me - but, I have tried to sign up to the site, but it wont let me use my user name that I use on here, no one will know who I am.
There is secure a way to swap email addresses.

1. Create a temporary Hotmail account.
2. Publish this address, and ask your ABers to send their AB name, email address and a special phrase of their choice.
3. Wait a day or two.
4. The respondees then publish their special phrases.
5. Read your Hotmails and match the special phrases to the messages.
6. You can send your real email address to these people.
