What is the best way to get into the music industry? I have no idea how to go about it. All I have ever done all my life is sing, dance and act. I have even thought of modelling to get recognised but I cannot find a good agency. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Thanks x

It really depends on what particular area of the industry you want to aim for. If it's the perfomance end, you will be well aware of just how hard it is to break into anything resembling fame and fortune. If you can sing, why not join a local band and get some experience. No bands? Form one! You are going to have masses of ambition, stamina, and talent - in that order - to get anywhere, but a lot of stars are in the right place at the right time, as was Robbie Williams, so it can be done. If i can offer any more advice on specific areas, please re-post.

I would love to sing in a band, the trouble is I don't know of anyone who is musically talented who wants to form a band. Andy can you not find out any contacts whilst interviewing famous people?? :-) It is my absolute dream and I get so depressed not knowing how to go about it. At this point in my life I don't even feel I am on the right track
Westlife are after a new singer according to the weekend papers and will be holding auditions later this month. The paper said they were interested in a female singer.
Try and find a copy of the "white book". It might be in your local library, and it's a thick paperback listing all sorts of industry contacts.
Hello casey. Why not check out the small ads in the N.M.E. which has a section for bands looking for singers - you may be able to find a band that way. If not, scout around your local record shops and music venues, they often have noticec boards where musicians can look for band members. This will hopefully get you started on a local level, and you can see if this really is the life for you - once you find out if you enjoy it. Again, the very best of luck, it is a heartbreaking world, and I am often glad only to be an observer, but I'm not trying to put you off, simply give sound advice based on long experience.
