Just in case you can't get the info you need, I would suggest that the cheese (grated) can go in the machine at the start, along with the yeast, flour, sugar, water etc. If the herbs are dried, then add them at the same time. However, if you are using fresh (chopped) herbs, then put them in at the *raisin beep* stage - about 5 minutes before the end of kneading. I'm not sure about the onions - if you are using raw chopped onion, I'd recommend you soften these in a little oil, or you could use dried onion. All the recipes I can find (both in my Panasonic recipe booklet and in all my breadmaker recipe books) appear to say that softened onions can go in at the start. If using dried onion,(say flakes) then no problem, add these at the start.
I think the principle here is, if you don't want any particular ingredient to become totally *mashed* up and mixed into the bread, then add it at the *raisin beep* stage.
