Can anyone please give me a step by step process of how to adjust the front disc brake on my sons mountain bike? It has started rubbing on the pads and as a result the front wheel has become quite tough to turn. Any help greatly welcome

(a plastic dial? possibly red?) as long as the wheel is sitting right in the fork dropouts, and the disc isnt warped. turn the dial adjusters anticlockwise and the until the wheel turns freely.
If you want expert instruction I find these DVDs on the market very good.
