This is not my request but that of a friend - I thought someone here may have/know the answer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm going to Siberia for a month this summer. I'm going to be a volunteer English and French teacher in a residential summer camp for Russian kids run by a Russian organisation.
I've paid about 500 for the month which is predominantly for my accomodation and food, and in exchange for me teaching three lessons a day, I am taught three lessons of Russian.
And I've just received my invitation ("priglashenneya") and it says the type of the visa you will be applying for is 'ordinary humanitarian' ("obyknovennaya gumanitarnaya") and the purpose of the visit is 'cultural connections' ("kulturnye svyazi").
Now when I go to fill in the Russian visa application form - I have to decide between a Tourist visa and a Business visa. Which one is it?
I've been to Russia before - the first time was definitely a Tourist trip, and the second was for me to do a language course in St Petersburg and I needed a Tourist visa for that too. Does anyone know which one I should pick this time???
Thanks in advance :-)
Reading through the information on the website of the Russian consulate, it looks like a business visa to me. However, the website provides an e-mail address and phone numbers for the consulate, so it would seem sensible to check with the people who can provide a definitive answer:
