Yes.

Question 2) Is Isle of Man money actually minted on the isle itself?
It is legal tender but you will find that a lot of (particulary small) traders will view notes with suspicion that don't have "Bank of England" printed on them. For example, a lot of banks in Northern Ireland print their own notes which ARE legal tender and are imprinted with things like Ulster Bank.
No.

2. No it isn't - it's probably minted in the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, South Wales - which mints coins for loads of countries.
No money is actually MINTED on IOM but think that you`re asking if it is legal tender on mainland. Official answer is NO, particularly for notes, but coinage can often slip through un-noticed and especially so in slot machines.
For notes, the magic word is sterling.
Here we have the true value of Answerbank, two answers say it is legal, two answers say it isn't. They can't both be correct; they are insistent they are correct but they give no evidence.

In England & Wales the only notes which are legal tender are those issued by the Bank of England. In Scotland & Northern Ireland only one pound & two pound coins issued by the Bank of England are legal tender.

See http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/legaltender.htm

The reason I didn't give any extra evidence for my correct answer is because none was asked for or needed; the questionner merely has to rely on my supreme genius and brilliance to know that I was giving the correct answer, and that therefore the contradictory answers must be incorrect.
Bernardo, you shouldn't be so modest :)

But unfortunately not everyone here is like you, and it seems that a lot of times questions are answered by people who have no more idea of the correct answer than the questionner

having worked there recently i know that IOM notes are NOT legal tender on the mainland, they are not printed with pounds STERLING,we always changed our IOM notes on the ferry home.
