wanna be lawyer
4 Answers
I am about to enter the third year of my law degree and have finally decided that I want to pursue law as a career. It would be useful if I could get sponsorship to do my LPC. It appears that it is best to do work experience with a firm first to get this sponsorship. Does anybody know where I can find lists of law firms willing to give vacation work experience to third year law students?

If you are thinking of practising in a high street firm then you should write to as many as possible (you could start by noting those you see in your high street). As far as I know, sponsorship to pay for the LPC is very hard to come by, but there is a charity who lend the money interest free - I can't remember the name, I suggest you ask your careers office.
I know, it sounds so simple doesn't it? But my University Careers office information is all out of date, understandably because I am asking for this at rather an odd time, and also the Law Society's webpage, on which there is a link to this information, appears to be out of date. This is probably because I am looking for Easter placements (as I am a bit late for the summer and Christmas). I thought I would try asking and see if anyone else had any ideas, but it looks like I am just going to have to have a look at the out of date lists and write some letters to law firms. Thank you all anyway and good luck with your studies vittoria!!
