about how many earths would fit into a hollow ball the size of the sun? This is a primary school question about sun tanning etc. We didn't get stuff like this in my day!!

Wikipedia gives Earth =approx 1x10^21 litres and Sun approx 1x10^27 litres, which would give an answer of 1x10^6 i.e. a million, which would be a nice round number and therefore easty to remember!
Heres a pretty picture as well - gives a slightly smaller answer because of wasted space around the edges, or a bigger one if you convert us all to liquid!
