hallo, techy question for all you lovely peeps out there!
we bought a woolies cheapo digibox, we have it wired up to tv and vcr, i can get the picture on the vcr channel-but no sound! the vcr records picture but no sound either. press the av/tv button on the tv remote and it swaps between the direct digi channel and the one thru the vid, vid sound is not turned down or mute. Any ideas anyone?
Staying up late to watch stargate on c4 is killing me (we dont get terrestrial c4).

How have you got it wired up, is it with scart leads? if so do you get sound on the TV when watching tv from the digibox? if you do try swapping the leads over.
Hopefully Ethel will be along shortly as she has a link to a really good online guide on how to wire tv's and videos up best.

This is my favourite tv connection wizard:

So, make sure it is correctly connected and check all the plugs to make sure nothing is loose.
If you still have the problem, let us know.

wot a fantastic little website!
diag looks pretty much like how we wired it up, but i think the 2-1 skart connecter we got is faulty, one of the plugs doesnt sit in firmly, and we got distortion on the screen when we tried it, so we took the 2-1 and the DVD out of the loop and it was fine. the only thing we havent done isconnect the VCR to the digibox with coax, presumably thru the port marked RF loop thru-there we may have a problem, the cheapy Woolies Worthit box has a reported fault in the RF loop in almost all models, so recording may not be possible, but i will try with the coax, and see if we get sound. At the moment we play musical cables to switch between the 3, but they all work fine independantly.
