whats percentage is 300 from 800 ?

please could you show the method or working out

my sister wants to know , and i don't have a clue!
she got 37.5% is this right?

0.375 X 100 to get the percentage = 37.5

300 is 37.5% of 800. Calculation is 300 x 100 / 800.

100% of 800 = 800
1% of 800 is 8
30% of 800 is 240
40% of 800 is 320
Then keep splitting the difference:
35% of 800 is 280
37.5% of 800 is 300
