Converting Music !!

Can any1 recommend good free music converters out there please, I want to convert my music to mp3 files to be able to play onto my cd player and car stereo. Also some software to burn it onto disc as my roxio sofware is playing up thanks. Tina x

A good ripper is dBpoweramp music convertor, uses LAME3 encoding which is good. Otherwise some later versions of Win media player can rip but don't know if it will do mp3 without extra software patches.
Nero is a very good burning prog.

I'm confused.

Windows Media Player, which comes with most PCs and can be downloaded free if not, will rip to mp3 and burn cds.

WMP is also faulty on my pc, and wont let me uninstall it from control panal menu. :)

I downloaded Daniusoft and it wouldnt load once installing, so now i cant uninstall it, and it says it's running when it isnt. Can sum1 help me.
