michelin stars rating!!

How many stars can you achieve?i have heard of one star and two star, has anyone got three stars, and how they get them, i know they have to a michelin inspection please tell me more!!!

Gordon Ramsay has 3 Michelin Stars at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal has 3 at The Fat Duck. I think the most for one restaurant to have is 3 stars.

Even although he can be quite annoying (especially his American shows) he really trounces most other chefs, living or dead, with his michelin stars count. He currently has about 12 Michelin Stars to his name with his various restaurants.
However, I always question how one chef can run and be personally responsible for the food of so many restaurants.

I have been to 2 of his restaurants and I don't rate them at all....I love him because he is rather tasty but his restaurants are not great...in my opinion.

Stars are awarded sparingly; for instance, in the UK and Ireland 2004 guide, out of 5,500 entries, there are 98 with one star ("a very good restaurant in its category"), 11 with two stars ("excellent cooking, worth a detour"), and only 3 with three stars ("exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey").
