Power to my monitor but it's not working :(

I have power going into my monitor but the screen doesn't fire up - well it does for a brief moment then goes black again. Anybody know why this might be and what I can do to fix it? The connection from the computer to the monitor is secure too.

Thanks

You might have a problem with the monitor or the graphics card.

If you can borrow a known good monitor and it still happens it may be the card, if all is well then you possibly have a faulty monitor or a fault on the lead to the monitor.
Have you checked both ends of the lead from monitor to computer?
really does sound like a faulty momitor...
Maybe one of the pins in the monitor plug are bent.

Thanks to all for your response to the question.

The power pack lights up, the connection from the power pack to the monitor lights up and using another monitor on the comp with the same power pack lead works. It must def be a problem between the connection to the power pack and the monitor and then beyond that. Oh well, sounds like a new monitor is needed :(

Thanks again x
