Scented gas anaesthetic
5 Answers
My 11 yr old son refused general gas anaesthetic ( for very minor surgery on his foot) because of bad rubber smell -so he had injection instead. However , i later discovered that gas is scented specifically for children such as vanilla. So is there any reason scented gas anaesthetic was not given?

It's all very well to say that there exists masks and/or anaesthetic gas scented with vanilla (or orange, strawberry, bubble gum etc.) but if "they" haven't got the kit then "they" can't use it.
(NB I use "they" because you haven't stated which institution.)
