our house's boiler is broken. i have very small heating fan which is using electricity. if i turn heating on which is using gas, there are 8 rediators in the house in total will be turned on all together, but i will only use one room at mean time. so im wondering would be cheaper if ijust use my little heating fan which will cost electricity instead using heating this winter. i can just simple move it to whichever room im staying. i cant figure out which is cheaper.please help!
Oh dear :-( ,are you sure you are turning the correct one? Our radiators have two valves, one at each end,one turns and the other doesn't.
Is your house rented or do you own it?If rented then get your landlord to come and sort it out before the really cold weather sets in.
thanks advice daffy, it my bf's house, and he is away, and there are two on each rediator, but they all dont have lids(valve),only got the metal stick standing there:((!!
i guess from you point of view, electricity must be very expensive then if im using my little fan?
Those little electric fan heaters do seem to use a lot of electricity,I would really try to get the central heating fixed if possible as you could end up having a very expensive or very cold winter :-(
don't use bottle gas heaters without good ventilation (really defeats the object) as they give out lots of condensation mould will appear in next to no time
its a valid point made by deggers, but a LOT of people are referring to this method, i have sold more portable gas heaters this week than i did all of last winter?
