You'd best google this.

The Spitfire was designed by R.J. Mitchell.

Barnes Wallis designed the bouncing bomb and the Wellington.
Reg Mitchell lived four doors down from me but I was only two at the time
R J Mitchell, chief designer of the Supermarine Aircraft Company designed the Spitfire. Sadly he died of cancer before he saw it enter service with the RAF.

Barnes Wallis designed the Wellington Bomber with it's unique Geodesic construction. (and the bouncing bomb and lots of other really clever stuff and he did it himself, not that conman Edison who had teams of people doing the real work and then he patented it/claimed the invention as his)
According to the Hayes Manual (there is one?) there are 44 Airworthy Spitfires with another 9 under restoration.
