My wife and I both use the same laptop, but have different settings, although we only have one email address between us
she tried to register with AB. but it seems you cant get 2 different names with only one email address is this correct ???

Yes.

One of you can get another email address - gmail, yahoo, hotmail and use that to register.

It'll only take a couple of minutes for one of you to sign up to Hotmail, you can then register another username through that address - it's just a minor inconvenience but you already know the benefits of being an AB member.

were you not given several email addresses when you signed on with your isp?

Set up a new email address, or get a temporary fake one from guerillamail.com. The email alerts don't work anyway so you won't be missing anything
