I am trying to find someone. I have a telephone number for them and their name. How can I find the address????? Please don't suggest 192.com as it is trying to get me to pay 10 for this information. Are there any other methods I can use? The obvious one would be to phone the person but this I cannot do. Someone help!

If you're that desperate surely 10 is a small price to pay

you would think so but I am a tight ass and I do not want to pay it. I need this information for free, there has to be some way?
The internet has area directories listed. Give this a try.
I don't suppose you could ring and ask them?
Sorry, just read your last line.

I'll get me coat.

lol, no worries. It's a tricky one I just can't seem to find out how to do it! I believe they have had the same number for 10 plus years i.e the number hasn't been ported over from another address.....I hope someone knows how!
If you're not prepared to pay, and it's not a business, no chance.

hmmm if that's the bottom line then I'l have to I guess. Don't want to though
I assume this person doesn't want you turning up on their doorstep, hence the cloak and dagger routine?
You could try directory enquiries. If you have the phone number then you have the area code and therefore know the rough area.

Try putting their name and area into Directory Enquiries website (google to find it!), must be worth a shot.
I think it can be done. If you know what town it is, shouldn't be too hard to find out if you have the full phone number, then register (for free) with this site:

I tested it on my own name and number and it brought up my address so could maybe work for your situation

thanks to Nik315....very helpful thankyou. Looks like I may have some success here.
.
Lost for words, Bertie?
This might sound stupid but maybe if you ring the digit or two either side of the number you have that might be their neighbours address and then you can say 'is that Joe? Oh sorry I thought this was Beaumont Park sorry where I am I ringing" ask them what village it is for example and street???

Waiting for someone to ring me now and ask for Joe lol
Question Author
no that won't work, my friend used to have the same telephone number as me but last digit was different and he lived about 2 miles away from me. Thanks for the suggestion though
Vandersam email me your friends full name and the town he lives in and i may be able to email you back an address [email protected]
I don't know if they still do, but main libraries used to hold a full set of directories.

If you can access the appropriate directory, you could look up their surname and find the corresponding telephone number - the address will be shown (unless of course, they are ex-directory).

thanks kev, I have managed to find it now through a link that someone sent above. Very helpful though thankyou all!!!!!!
The link Nik315 put on doesn't work....
