i want to delete my hotmail account but it says if i close it i will no longer be able to log into windows live or any microsoft services. does this mean i wont be able to use my computer as i have windows vista ie microsoft?

Vista is (rubbish) Microsoft software, not a Microsoft service. Deleting a Hotmail account will have no effect on the operation of Windows Vista.
