Can anybody help? I have a Thomson DT16300 DTR that has suddenly decided to freeze every time I go into the programme library. It allows 2/3 button presses then freezes. I have tried the recommended troubleshooting procedure, to no avail
Thanks in advance

hi modeste,
youve probably sorted your problem out by now, but if not, i hope i can help.
i had the same problem with mine once, its because there is a corrupt recording in your programme library.
you will be able to tell which programme it is beacause that is where it freezes when you try and scroll down your programme lists.
so,
after youve located the probable corrupt recording (because it freezes)
unplug and replug as usual.
then go into:-
menu
set up
help
key in 1397
scroll down to no 7
change it from no to yes
go back into your library
scroll down to the corrupt recorded programme
delete as youd usually do
this will now have sorted your freezing up problem.
hope this has helped.

Brilliant! I am so glad you posted that solution. Had exactly the same problem and was about to dump the box! It fixed it immediately.
Don't suppose you know how to stop it flicking back when play back is in fast forward. It has done this randomly ever since I bought the box a year ago and when I enquired I was told it is a software problem from which they all suffer....
Also has a habit of freezing, requiring reboots, when deleting longer recordings.
Neither of the above are major problems - just irritating.
Thanks

hiya hot nut
hey thats great to know i helped fix your grrrrrrr lol
but im afraid i dont have an answer to the flicking back when youre fast forwarding, i have that very same problem too ... the only thing i can think of is it struggles to cope when you rush straight to the 64 speed lol, so try building up the speed gradually and maybe just settle for 32.
and as for the random freezing, well, its a pain in the bum isnt it lol ... i just roll my eyes, tut and wait for it to reboot itself or pull the plug!
:o)
have a nice crimbo.
