hi...
no i didnt do a hpl check as i'm unsure what that is??..
i registered it in my name by using a change of ownership form. sent to dvla..

a seller who does not have the V5 (log book) documents may well have stolen the car, or have other reasons for wanting to sell it that what you might think
An HPI check seeswhether there is any outstanding finance on the car, or if it is the sellers to sell
you need to go back to the seller asn ask for the logbook

if you have registered the car in your name, then a V5 form will be sent out to you in your name, this has replaced the logbook as we call it,you now need to book the car in for a MOT test,if it passes then you can insure it and then tax it,and then providing you are a full licence holder you can drive it where ever you want, but beware if you are only a learner, you must have a full licence holder with you until you pass your tests.
