I've put a piece of music on You Tube which I'm trying to identify. It might have been the theme to a TV documentary. My brother downloaded it a few years ago but can't remember where he got it from. It had the title - London. The title may have nothing to do with the music but it's the only information I have.
Another very quick way is to use Shazam you will need a mobile phone to do this.
Dial 2580 and listen to the instructions, hold the phone towards the music for 20 seconds. The call will end and within a minute you will get a text with the name of the track and artist. Have been using this for years with about 90% success rate.

OK - Tried Shazam but the number wasn't recognized. Found out it wasn't compatible with Tesco mobile. I got through on my brother's mobile but Shazam didn't recognize the music. This could be due to the fact I do not have a clean recording. The music was recorded off the TV with people coughing in the background. More likely it simply doesn't have the tune in its database.
I think Vangelis is probably right. It's clearly his style. I've been going through the free samples at CD Universe but no luck yet. I'll keep trying. Thanks for the suggestion.
I think it may be from one of his very early albums. It is in the style around the time of Les Apocalypes des Animaux, which was about 1973. So I reckon if you search his music up to about 1980, you would be most likely to find it.
Alternatively you could find a Vangelis fan web site and contact them with a link to your youtube video and they should be able to tell you if it is him and what it is.
