if the car has electronic ignition it could be a faulty spark plug or a diggy ignition lead

thanks for your reply but i,ve tried that.Ihave also tried new fuel pump,inlet gasket,ecu,cat converter,cam +crank censors,the valve in the exhaust[not sure of the term for that]earth on the gear box,tried disconnecting the speedo.i am getting desperate now iasked vauxhall uk but they are also struggling nearly forgot,a pressure test has been done on the engine to check head gasket and a mixture reading which reads normal has been done i look forward to your replies thanks
