ink replacements

Can anyone tell me if the dropper bottle ink that you pour into the computer are worth the bother?
They areso much cheaper.

No problems with performance, but such a fiddle I gave up and went back to the branded ones. While on this, I have found Morrisons far cheaper than other stores.

In an attempt to stop you re-filling cartridges, manufacturers started fitting electronic chips to the cartridge (so that they will not work if you attempt to re-fill them). Even so, you can purchase zappers that will re-set the chips, allowing you to re-fill.

All this is far too much trouble, check out the compatible cartridges available on ebay. Original manufacture cartridges for my ink jet printer are over �5 each and compatibles around �1 including P&P from ebay.

I tried refilling my own cartridges a couple of times and I ended up with ink all over my fingers, and all over the printer. (To be fair, I should state that I also know someone who regularly refills his own cartridges, without any problems).

Most 'compatible' cartridges are nearly as good as 'originals'. Like Aquagility, I've found Morrison's to be the cheapest place on the High Street, with perfectly acceptable results when printing.

Ive had no luck at all with compatibles, refills or any cheaper makes of ink, its just not been worth the bother for me and I have to stick to the expensive originals grrrrrr

HP printer seems to be too clever at detecting fakes

my printer i cn buy epson originals for 7 quid each it takes 4 colours red yellow blue black


i can getcompatables for a quid each.

you can get an epson all in one for about 50 quid

then ink is between a fiver and a tenner a set dependant on the model


depends how much you use it really.
if you use it a lot the ink pays for the printer in maybe 6 months
maybe sooner

Leg, I had an Epson colour 680 previous to this one and wouldnt have another.
When this printer packs in (whos gonna buy a 2nd hand one really?) I will go for a Kodak as the original refills are much cheapness

btw canon are suppoedly the best if you buy original cartridges as each cartrideg has the print head in it
so always good quality and heads rarely get blocked

im still an epson man


for a lone printer you cant beat the d92

its a tad noisy in my opinion
but at 29 quid from tescos and 10 quid tops for 4 ink carts its cheap.

Hi there Legend I have a Lexmark 3600-4600 series; ink is not my thing and I resent paying too much therefore any help would be great thanks : )

I have refilled my Lexmark, Canon and HP printers without any problems. First bought a dedicated kit for each from an ink selling website, this has a plastic mount so you can suck ink through if needed. Plus a sticker for colour cartridge so you know which colour each hole is.
Now I just buy the Tesco value refill kits so it only costs pence per refill. They come with a hypodermic syringe so no mess.

Hi sunflower, I have HP printer and have always found this site ( pricestorm.com ) to be good for cartridges both branded and compatible ones. Cheaper than any shop I have been to. I f you want to fill them yourself then as BillyBB says Tesco refill kit is good and easy to use. Just don't get it on your fingers as it takes ages to get off LOL.
