Every now and then when typing on my Windows 2000 PC I get a beep from the PC speaker. It seems to be linked to pressing a key (maybe it happens every 2000 keypresses or something). I reinstalled Windows and it still does it. Any ideas?

Hmmm.... could be 'stickykeys'??  This is activated when you press the 'Shift' key 5 times consecutively.  This makes a beeping noise when activated but it does come up with a warning message box before activating fully.
