how to delete email addresses

I'm a bit of a novice at computers so can somebody please advise me how to delete some addresses from my email list. I've tried various things but the addresses are still there. Your help will be very much appreciated.
I have windows xp live hotmail. Thank you

Hi janbee,had to do this myself not long ago and it took me ages.Here goes...at the top right hand corner of your hotmail homepage click on options,then click on more options (at the bottom of the box) You will then be given all sorts of account management choices including deleting email contacts etc.Hope that helps.x
