I pulled apart my torch in a fit of boredom and i painted the bulb black. Now my torch shines shadows. I didn't think this would really work, but it does. It's really funny shining shadows in the sun. I thought you could not create black light, so why does this work ?
I'm not havin' that! You can 'shine shadows' on a sunny day?! My lad's a huge Peter Pan fan, and if you can do this, there's got to be cash in it, ie. a stencil over the bulb etc?
The black paint on the bulb is blocking some of the white light from coming out. But you have probably painted it with uneven amounts of paint on different parts of the bulb. The "shadows" which you are seeing are the areas on the bulb with thicker layers of black paint, and thus less bright white light is coming through.
