British Gas PT5 Thermostat

Having replaced the batteries the PT5 refuses to 'talk' to the boiler so I have hot water but no central heating and now the display is intermittent. Is there anything I can do before calling out assistance?

if the display is intermittent the battery housing is probably not in correctly or the back not tight enough.
Have you tried pressing the learn button - on the receiver - or the override button.
Does the heating come on if you press the override button? if you press you override button the green light should come on and heating should fire up.
