I need to buy a new toaster and am befuddled by the choice. Do I buy a 4 Tesco cheapie, a hugely expensive Dualit or something in between?
I want one that toasts a large slice all over with no white bits and toasts quickly.

Tell me about your toaster. I am thinking of this one http://www.johnlewis.com/230208078/Product.asp x?source=14798

it's got slots in it that you put bread in and magicaly it turns into toast.

I have a mid priced Morphy Richards toaster,it only seems to toast one side of the bread properly so I would not recommend this one :

My mums got a dualit. Toasts nicely.
You need anything that will turn raw toast into cooked bread.
i cant recall what mine is but i hate it! it is a 4 slice toaster but i have to lay bread in sideways to toast it otherwise i end up with just bread on top half and toast on bottom.

good to see you back Ethel :)
i have a moulinex 4 slice thick and thin that has worked well for about 4 years, but i have a 4 tesco one too that my son bought, the moulinex seems fine, can you still get moulinex stuff? i got mine in asda, john lewis charge over the odds, go to tesco or asda or argos and get the same toaster but without the posh bag
that should be a good one Ethel. ugly looking thing though,
Dualit is great. My one has normal slots for sliced bread and an extra wide one for buns/tea-cakes.
Hey redex sounds like youve got the same one as me, from asda.
mines brilliant only a 2 slicer but came with a kettle I think, just cant remember which make, its all shiny
Ohhhhhh. Shiny. The BEST kind.
Hi Ethel, good to see you back. Hope you had a lovely holiday.

I have to say Dualits are very good. My dad had a 4 slice one years ago when he owned a cafe. Perfect toast every time and absolutely no complaints from the customers.
here's mine Ethel and I have the matching kettle. It's great as it toasts evenly, the adjuster works properly and you can toast crumpets (has a special setting for them)
