I think the "original" Kilner did have a screw top -- the clip-top ones are another kind, though those are now made with the Kilner trademark.  If you saw Petrol-head last night on "Who do you think you are?" it'll all be clear.

More to the point, where can you get the rubber seals for the screw-top kind?  I have lots I can't use.

Yrs, I did see "Who do you think you are?" but I know that Kilner did produce the preservative jars WITH the wire vacum clips.
My mother had several of them.
Anyway. I have mailed BBC (for attention of "Who do you think you are?" ) with a url where all types of Kilner jars appear to still be sold.
If you try www.lakeland.co.uk, go to Kitchenware then Homemade - you will find jars that look very much like Kilner, although they may not be able to use the name, they also sell the replacement rings, but only for clip top ones sorry New Forester

Yes, Jules001 -- I've got lots of the clip-top kind of seals too.  They're the wrong size.
