I intend to buy a new flat screen tv at the weekend, at present I am using my old tv with a Thomson Freeview Digibox with duel drive and I have mastered how to record on it and do lots of recordings.
I realise the new tv will come with freeview in it ,but will I still be able to hook up the digibox so that I can still record as usual.
I do not intend to buy a Sky package at any time in the future.
advice would be very helpful as Mrs Techno I am not.

Yes you can, no problem at all.

Your digibox has its own tuners which it records from - that is why it records when the tv is switched off. You can watch tv with the tv tuners.

many, many, tks Dee,
p.s.now I need to look at wall brackets for the new tv !!!!!!!
Think carefully before wall mounting your tv. Unless you sink the cables in to the wall they will be trailing, spoiling the look.
Don't forget all the addons you may want to plug in to the tv.

The ideal height for viewing a television is with the middle of the tv at eye level when you are in a seated position.
Too high and you will get a crick in the neck and a distorted picture.
