Hi all - has anyone done this themselves for a wedding reception?

The only problem we have is that how do we put up drapes onto a concrete ceiling? The hall we are hiring from are quite strict when putting things on wall etc but is there something we can use which is discreet?

Any advice pls....thanks

Much depends on how high and far apart you want them, but if you go to your local disco shop they probably hire out telescopic stands for disco lighting with a T-bar on top.

You can also get more heavy duty wind up stands that can take a length of Tri-Lite (triangular aluminium lighting truss like you see lights on at concerts. This can rum the whole length between 2 stands and is usually 2m or 3m n length and can be bolted together to make a long span.
ask yourself is it worth the cost and effort?

it's a hired room - everyone knows that ...

If you just want one back-drop behind the top table, you could try borrowing some garden umbrella stand bases and erect some dowels with a piece of wood between them and drape the material from the crossbar.
It requires no invasion of the structure of the hall.
