How many decibels is the fog signal at a lighthouse? I was once at portland bill and it was the loudest noise i have ever heard!

Do not know exactly, but in excess of 100dB...

I should think, looking at this list, it is probably somewhere around 140dB

You should note that pain starts at 130 dB and the bones in the ear may break at 150 dB.....
As a matter of interest, if my house alarm is set off the exterior alarm is 110db but the interior alarm is 135db. The noise inside confuses and hurts the bad guy and hopefully he leaves without stealing anything. Probably get sued one of these days for damaging the poor bad guys hearing.
120 d will damage your ear, and a aeroplane taking of is 100 decibles
