ford radio code storing

just bought a ford car and radio was disconnected managed to get the code for the stereo, the problem is i type the code in but when i press the button to store it the radio switches itself off the when i turn it back on it asks for the code again, i know its the correct code so i know thats not the problem can anyone help please

It is possibly the wrong code. if you send me the serial number off the side of the radio,(it will mean removing it) you will need the keys which can be bought from halfords etc.
send the serial No and I can decode it for you.

you will get a 4 figure number which you input with first number on first button, 2nd number on second button, 3rd number on third button and 4th number on fourth button. You then press the fifth button that will compare your input with the stored number, if it is coorect it will unlock the radio.... Warning.... You only get ten goes at it and then it will lock you out which would then require a different operation.

Its not the code, got that from the previous owner who got it from the manual, the manual they had for the radio got wrecked but they managed to save the page with the serial number on it
