In just the last couple of weeks we have been troubled by houseflies indoors Having had blue light killers before which only seemed to attract moths, I purchased the larger blue light version as seen in shops etc The flies do not appear to be attracted to it and it has not solved the problem. We do have the outer doors open in this hot weather and I wonder if fly screens would have been a better option? Do ABers have any helpful suggestions please?

We also have been plagued with flies lately but as I read this Spring that swatting, grilling or similar, spreads bacteria as flies carry a lot of it, the best way was to use those sticky strips. They do work even though they don't look nice and seem to work best the more there are flies stuck on there!
Also, flies are attracted to anything yellow. I had a yellow flowering plant next to the back door and since moving it we have had a lot less coming in.
we are using fly paper too. It looks gross but its the only thing doing the trick apart from fly swatters (the elctric ones can be good too)

we too bought a blue light killer last year and watched the flies walking around all over the plastic parts
I bought one identical to this one in my local hardware shop last year:

It is very good and does attract the flies, they make quite a loud buzzing noise when caught in it (until they die) though and it takes a bit of getting used to.lol
