Ford Focus Zetec alarm

Hi guys,

Bought a Focus Zetec and looked through the manual but couldn't see anything about the alarm and how it activates.

When i unlock the car to get in, it seems as though i have a few seconds before the alarm goes off. I have to unlock the car and start it in order to deactivate the alarm, but surely there is an easier way to deactivate the alarm?

I used to have a 2005 Zetec. You are right, when you unlock it, you seem to have about 10 seconds to get in and start the engine or the alarm goes off.

When you lock the lar, do you press the button once or twice ? If you press the button once the car locks and sets the alarm. However you press it twice is has a double lock and extra security features which affect the alarm going off.

Hi Misty,

Think the problem is that my wife has the key fob with the alarm on it whereas i only have the spare key without the alarm buttons on so i have to manually open the car which is when i have the problem.
