Isn't there a number or code you type in before you dial in the number on a phone and it means the receiver doesn't know your number, it with-holds your number?

Is that how it works and what is the code?

...and does it also work on mobiles?

Thanks in advance

141 works on landlines and mobiles
141 Don't know if it works with mobiles.
why........thinking of making some dirty calls?
My Ma in law is a great one for coming in and ringing 1471 to see if anyone called ( she wont have answerphone because it means she might have to ring them back and pay for call ) so if I dont get an answer when I ring then i ring off and redial using 141 before her number, Saves her panicking about what i might want.
