fit aerial to transistor radio

I have a small transistor radio i listen to when walking but the signal comes and goes. Where inside the radio would i connect a piece of flexi wire to act as an aerial?

Probably not a lot you can do to improve that then - though you could try the headphones via a 'Y' adaptor, using the other half to plug in your flexi wire connected to a 2·5 or 3·5mm plug - I'd guess on the screen side.
I used to have a battery portable radio in the 1960 which had an internal rod aerial and which also suffered from bad reception in some areas.
I had a long length of wire with a crocodile clip fitted to one end and used to remove the back of the radio and clip the wire to a soldered joint on the existing aerial. This improved the reception, particularly out in the open country when on holiday.
This may not be possible with your radio but it does give you another alternative to think about!!!
