Adhesive for window film

Earlier this year I bought self adhesive plastic uv blocking film for some of my home windows. I have just had the windows replaced and removed the film without damaging it. The company who I bought it from says it cannot be reused. Before I chuck away this expensive stuff I wondered if anyone knows of an adhesive I could use to try and stick it on the new windows?.

Have you tried just dampening the window with water and then applying the plastic sheeting to it?
It may work and I think it would be better than adhesive. It would certainly do no harm.

A dilute soap solution would probably enable you to move it around to position it correctly - Fairy liquid or similar.

Thanks for the replies.

Graham-W. I was going to try dampening the windows and hoping there was enough adhesive left for it to work.

Androcles. I used a diluted soap solution to apply it originally so will do the same.

May as well try and reuse it rather than just throwing it away.

i always understood uv rays never penetrated glass windows ??
