charities with same agenda

whats the point in having several charities who compete with each other, who have a common cause, wouldn't it be most cost effective to amalgamate all the chairites that do the same work ie cancer research charities.

but with advertising, one advertises then another has to make more adverts to get noticed and so on. . .

Cancer Research UK already is an amalgamation of the Cancer Research Campaign, and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. They merged in 2002.

In a different area, Age Concern and Help The Aged are in the process of merging now.

No doubt many other charities have merged in the past.

Looks like you are right, but are behind the times.

oh, its jsut you hear of so many different chairities trying to achieve the same, i didn't realise some had already merged.

i thought of it also because, there's a disowned distant family member of my friends, who obviously didn't like any of his family, so when he died, in his will it said something general like give all of my money to cancer research, but didn't specify which cancer research charity, so they had to split it and give a little to all of them.
