What's happened to Newspapers?
I gave up reading the Daily Mail when it became too feminine. Now I am giving up on the Daily Telegraph as I am in danger of getting a hernia, especially on the weekend when the number of inserts are massive.
I just want a easy to handle, easy to read, newspaper that gives me an insight into the news, which is on TV and radio. I guess I'll go back to the Daily Express.
But seriously, why do all the newspapers and magazine have to come with so many inserts. I think the Daily Mail I only read about four pages of news; the Telegraph I managed eight, or so, plus the business section.
But I picked up a Radio Times the other days and a bunch of inserts fell out. I really want to make an issue of it and just leave them on the floor, but, it would have set a very bad example to the kids in the shop.
Anyone else feel were need more newspaper and less inserts?
I sure hope I'm not becoming a Grumpy

Printed newspapers and magazines are on a long slow decline, replaced by TV, radio and recently the interent.
They need to get money any way they can, and if they have to produce "extra" sections (cars, fashion, travel etc) to generate adverts so be it.
Same with inserts, they get paid to include them.
If they did not include them the cover price would go up.

Thanks for taking the time to reply everybody
It sure makes me feel better to know that I'm not the only one.
And EDDIE51, I think I'll take another look at The Times. When I last read it, it was referred to as "The Old Thunderer;" not sure why
For the time being, I think I will just pick-up a copy the The Express, until I tell the newsagent which paper to have delivered
Never thought about the kids delivering the papers

Well reasoned EDDIE51,
You've convinced me. I'm going out soon, and will pick up a copy of The Times. They used to have a broadsheet and a tabloid format. Think I would prefer the tabloid size,,,,,,,,,,,,if they are still doing it.
I'll give them a few days, and then decide...............
Thanks for all your help and advice
