Cany anyone tell me the date when the current £20 note (Elgar) came out please? TIA

From June 30th the £20 Note with Edward Elgar on will cease to be legal tender.
From July 1st only £20 with Scottish Economist Adam Smith will be accepted.
That's not what they asked.
according to Wiki - so up to you if you wish to believe it - it was June 1999

Thanks Chelle - exactly what I was looking for .... it's not an important issue just curious really as a relative thought we had only had Elgar for 4/5 years and I thought it was longer.
